Starting August 1, 2026, Intuit is raising QuickBooks Online subscription prices, and the Plus plan is going up from $99 to $140 a month, about 41% higher. To keep covering the software cost, I'm adjusting your monthly bookkeeping fee by $45 starting with your next invoice. This covers Intuit's price increase only, the scope and quality of the work stay exactly the same. Happy to answer any questions.

Clerai starts at $39/month flat, no per-client markup, and automates categorization, client chasing, and month-end close so a price hike on the software you already pay for does not have to eat your margin.

Common questions

What actually changed with QuickBooks Online pricing on August 1, 2026?

US monthly list prices: Simple Start moved from $35 to $38, Essentials from $60 to $85, Plus from $99 to $140 (about 41% higher), and Advanced from $200 to $340 (about 70% higher). Per Intuit's Firm of the Future pricing update, corroborated by Certum Solutions and School of Bookkeeping. Changes land on each subscription's next billing date from August 1, 2026.

Does switching to annual billing avoid the increase?

It delays it rather than avoiding it. Annual billing locks your rate until renewal, and Intuit gives new subscribers roughly six months of price protection before the new rate applies at the seventh invoice. Either way, the list price at your next renewal reflects the new pricing.

How should I talk to clients about a fee increase?

Be upfront and tie it directly to Intuit's list price change, not your margin. Send a short note before the new invoice goes out rather than letting them discover it. Use the copyable note above as a starting point and adjust it to your voice.

Is this calculator affiliated with Intuit or QuickBooks?

No. This is an independent tool built by Clerai. The rate table is sourced from Intuit's own public pricing announcements and reputable accounting-firm summaries, not from Intuit directly. Check quickbooks.intuit.com for current, authoritative pricing before you invoice a client.

What about QuickBooks Payroll (Workforce) pricing changes?

Payroll and Workforce per-employee pricing is also changing around the same period, but the old-versus-new figures reported across sources conflicted enough that we could not verify a clean table, so it is left out here rather than guessed at. Confirm current payroll pricing directly with Intuit.
